Role Overview
The IT Manager / Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s internal
IT infrastructure, ensuring the security and efficiency of systems, and providing reliable user access controls.
This role involves overseeing hardware, software, network operations, and user support to ensure smooth day-to-day
operations. The IT Manager collaborates with leadership to implement technology strategies aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Manage system updates, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Network Security
- Ensure the security of networks, systems, and data through firewalls, anti-virus software, and access controls.
- Monitor and respond to potential security breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Maintain compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations.
User Support and Training
- Provide technical support to users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and authentication mechanisms.
- Train employees on IT systems and best practices to enhance productivity and security awareness.
IT Strategy and Collaboration
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT management or system administration roles.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with security tools and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (certifications like CompTIA, MCSE, or CCNA preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
