Data Architect
Role Overview
The Data Architect is responsible for designing and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient data storage
solutions, with a focus on sensitive patient and billing data. This role ensures that data systems meet the
organization’s needs while adhering to regulatory compliance and security best practices. The Data Architect
collaborates with stakeholders to design data models, implement storage solutions, and optimize data access
and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture and Design
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data architecture solutions to support business needs.
- Create and optimize data models for transactional, analytical, and reporting systems.
- Define and enforce data standards, governance, and best practices across the organization.
Security and Compliance
- Ensure all data storage solutions adhere to security standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Implement access controls, encryption, and monitoring mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with security teams to perform regular audits and address vulnerabilities.
Data Integration and Optimization
- Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Optimize database performance and ensure high availability of data storage systems.
- Support data warehousing, analytics, and reporting initiatives to deliver business insights.
Collaboration and Innovation
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to identify data storage and management needs.
- Research and recommend new technologies to enhance data storage and processing capabilities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineers and other technical team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
